Alice Marie (Tilton) Adkins, age 95, of Urbana, OH, formerly of Xenia, OH, entered into eternal life on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at Hearth and Home of Urbana. She was born in Dayton, OH to Emma Marie (Swartzbaugh) and Harry B. Tilton on August 8, 1929.

After graduating from Carlisle High School in 1947, she worked at Frigidaire in Dayton, then married her love, Carl B. Adkins, former Xenia City School Superintendent, on March 31, 1950.

Alice loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker and was deeply devoted to all. Her passions were her family, gardening, and fishing trips with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Carl of 52 years, son: Gale; and brothers: Joseph and Harry Tilton.

Alice is survived by her daughter-in-law: Janet Adkins of Xenia, OH; son: David (Janie) Adkins of Mt. Sterling, OH; daughter: Diane (Rick) Speakman of Urbana, OH; sister: Phyllis Pelfrey of Middletown, OH; sister-in-law: Nelda Adkins of Georgia; wonderful grandchildren: Brian (Kelly) Adkins, Kristin (Mark) McNeely, Rebecca (Dustin) Test, Christopher (Jamie) Adkins, Jennifer (Jed) Stinner, Lindsay (Perry) Barnes, Stephanie (Bryan) Conover, Stacy Speakman, and Robert (Richelle) Speakman; twenty precious great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Alice was so loved by all and will be greatly missed. Alice was a member of Faith Community United Methodist Church in Xenia for many years.

Services will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, August 1, 2025 at McColaugh Funeral Home, Xenia. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia. Visitation will be held from 11:00AM-1:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
