Austin Chaffins, age 29, of Xenia, OH, passed away on September 1, 2026 at Greene Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 16, 1997 in Dayton, OH to Shanna Oliver and the late Paul Chaffins.

In addition to his mother, Austin is survived by his daughter: Mellody Chaffins; siblings: Ashley Brown, Brittany Brown, Chelsea Chaffins, Dakota Chaffins, Alyssa Chaffins, Nicolette Chaffins, Malia Horton, Kirstin Chaffins; grandmother: Sylvia Oliver; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Austin was preceded in death by: his maternal grandfather: Willard Ray Oliver, paternal grandmother: Deborah Agee Issacs; paternal grandfather: Buster Chaffins; great grandmother: Lois Agee; cousin: Jessica Oliver; and uncle: Kevin Oliver.

Austin worked for McDonald's and previously for Twist. Austin was a strong-willed, tough, and unforgettable soul who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He could be stubborn and, in true brotherly fashion, wonderfully annoying at times, but beneath it all was a heart full of love, especially for his family. He was a beloved uncle who brought his own special spirit and personality to the lives of those around him. Austin enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, including fishing, taking walks, riding his bike, swimming, and listening to music. His faith in God was an important part of who he was.
