Barbara D. Koogler age 72, of Xenia, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Kettering Medical Center. She was born in Dayton, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her mother: Mary (Kelchner) Vanderveld and father Elmer Johnson; husband: Grayson "Ted" Koogler; and her dog: Ethan.

Barbara is survived by her children: Brian Jones of Xenia; Brandy (Andrew) Thornton of Canada; and Bridget (Anthony) Montano of Xenia; daughter-in-law: Michele Jones; grandchildren: Robert (Angel); Michael; Timothy; Austin; Sha'Tisha (Darrien); Leah; Caitlin and Shaelynn; 2 great grandchildren: Niko and Apollo; sister: Connie (Bruce) Grow of Clifton; brothers: Gary (Debbie) Johnson of FL and Douglas Johnson of West Carrollton; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Barbara had been an insurance agent in Kettering and Xenia. She was a Sunday school teacher at the Assembly of God Church in Xenia for many years. She had also been a Brownie and Cub Scout troop leader, was very crafty and a good cook. Barbara especially enjoyed swimming in her later years. She loved her family and spending time with them.

Services will be held 4 PM Tuesday, February 14 ^th at McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia with Rev. Ron Swiger officiating. Visitation will be held 3 PM Tuesday until the time of service at the funeral home. Friends and family are invited to attend the interment ceremony 11 AM Thursday, February 16 ^th at the Dayton National Cemetery.
