Barbara Ella Manning, age 85, formerly of Long Island, New York and more recently of Beavercreek, Ohio, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Hospice of Dayton.

Barbara was born in Freeport, Long Island, New York on October 18, 1939, the only child of George and Lillian (Connors) Johnson.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband, NYFD Francis Xavier Manning; and her sons: Bryan Michael Manning and Patrick Kevin Manning.

She is survived by her grandson: Keegan Manning of Xenia, his mother: Rebecca Manning and her friend and caretaker, Tammie Fischer of Huber Heights.

Barbara had been a telephone operator with NY Telephone Company. She was a very devoted mother. She always wore her crucifix necklace representing her Catholic faith. She also liked flowers. Barbara kept her New Yorker feisty personality until her last breath.

She will be buried with her husband and her sons in St. John's Cemetery, Goshen, NY.
