Bennie Jo Coots, age 76, of Xenia, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born September 28, 1946 in Whitesburg, Kentucky.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Donald Coots in 2013 and a sister: Marsha Fields.

She is survived by her sons: Donald Eric Coots of Xenia and Daniel (Danielle) Coots of Waynesville; granddaughters: Sydney Coots (Michael Toht) and Kayla (Zach) Moore; 3 great grandchildren: Evelyn Moore, Greyson Carr and Elaina Toht; and her companion: Steve Cline.

Jo retired from Dr. Morrison's office where she had been a receptionist. She enjoyed traveling, especially to the ocean and the Carolinas. She was a member of the VFW where she spent many hours volunteering.

Visitation and service will be held 6 PM Wednesday June 14th at McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia with Pastor Chris Downing officiating. Visitation will be held 5 PM Wednesday until the time of service at the funeral home. After the visitation and service, a celebration of life will be held at the Xenia VFW. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
