Betty Lou Parkins, 79, of Fairborn and formerly of Xenia died Friday, February 9, 2024, at Trinity Community at Fairborn.

She was born March 5, 1944, in Dayton, the daughter of John Edgar and Rose Pauline (Bader) Young.  She worked for many years at McCall's Publishing.  Betty lived on a farm and loved animals and riding horses.  She loved to play Chess, Yahtzee and Bingo.

Betty is survived by her nephew, Thomas (Majorie) Young of Dalton, GA.  She was preceded in death by her husband James; son, Richard James Parkins; brothers Elwood and Richard Young.

Private services have been held.  McColaugh Funeral Home in Xenia is serving the family.
