Carolyn Jean "Jeannie" Smith, age 72 of Jamestown, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at her residence. She was born December 10, 1949 in Combs, Kentucky the daughter of Doris (Yancey) and Chester Smith.

In addition to her parents, Jeannie was preceded in death by her daughter: Pamela Engle; and sisters: Sandra Osborne and Kay Turner.

She is survived by her husband, Roger D. Smith, whom she married August 1, 1970; children: Gregory Lee Smith and Kimberly Ann (Brian) Greene, all of Xenia; grandchildren: Jared and Justin Smith; Seth and Taylor Greene; great grandchildren: Elijah and Iylah; sister: Trina Dennehy; special niece and nephew: Shannon Banks and Dusty Turner; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews and friends. She is also survived by her beloved dogs, Baby and Fergie.

Jeannie was an STNA, retiring from Greenewood Manor after spending 30 years caring for the residents, many of whom she loved dearly. She had a heart for helping others. She was outspoken about her beliefs, and often used Facebook as a means of letting others know her opinions about her love of the Lord and Trump, which landed her in Facebook jail at least 36 times.  Most importantly, Jeannie loved her family, playing Bingo and having family get togethers.

A gathering for her friends and family will be held 4:30-7:30 PM Friday, March 11 ^th at the Nazarene Community Center, 1265 W. Second St., Xenia with Nancy Grieshop offering words of comfort at 5 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospitals at stjude.org in Jeannie's memory.
