Charles W. Shoemaker, age 84, of Xenia, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2026 at Friends Care Community, where he had been a resident for about a year.

Charles was born March 26, 1942 in Brown County, Ohio the son of Charles A. and Christine (Reed) Shoemaker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of almost 63 years, Clara (Ruckel) Shoemaker and a sister: Shirley Maxwell.

He is survived by his children: Phillip and Charles Jr. (Beverly) Shoemaker;

siblings: Ramona (Sonny) Boone; Jerry (Bev) Shoemaker; Mary Ann Murphy and Vickie (Ed) Bayless; grandchildren: Katelyn (Jonathon) Cobb, Kirk (Chelsea) Shoemaker, Kyle (Kathryn) Shoemaker; great grandchildren: Isaiah, Evelyn, Finley, Emma, Lincoln, Bexley and Parker; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Charles retired from Chrysler. He was the owner of Charles Shoemaker Auctioneer and also worked in Greene County as a realtor. He was an active member of Bible Baptist Church, teaching Sunday School for over 30 years and serving as a Deacon. He loved to be outdoors, bow hunting and fishing. His ornery personality will be greatly missed.

Services will be held 11 AM Friday, September 18th at Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Curtis Guest officiating. Visitation will be held 10 AM Friday until the time of service at the church. Burial to follow in Valley View Memorial Gardens.
