Cheryl L.
Williamson
May 14, 1956 — Aug 30, 2026
Cheryl Lynn Williamson was born in Mansfield, Ohio on May 14, 1956 to Benjamin C. Goolsby and Emma Mildred Goolsby. Upon moving to the Cedarville area, she attended Cedarville High School where she was inducted into the National Honor Society and graduated with distinction in 1974. She received an academic scholarship to Central State University where she earned an honors degree in Biology. While at CSU, Cheryl was a member of Biology research team, and presented the results of her research at various Biology conferences held at other universities. She graduated with honors in 1978. Cheryl had considered attending veterinary medical school because of her love of animals. However, her true desire was to someday marry and raise a family. She met her future husband, Jimmy while finishing her degree at CSU. He was an Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Mathematics. Cheryl and Jimmy married on September 3,1977, and her dream of having a family was realized upon the birth of their son, Jordan Lee on November 26, 1981. Cheryl was a devoted member of the Church of Christ for over 60 years, and a faithful servant of God. She loved studying the Bible and had a deep understanding of scripture, but even more importantly, she demonstrated God's love through the life she lived. She was a devoted wife and mother. She loved working in her flower beds, watching the birds around the feeders, listening to music, and of course, reading her Bible. Cheryl was proceeded in death by her parents and her older sister, Deborah (Goolsby) Davis of Columbus. She is survived by her husband Jimmy, her son, Jordan, her niece Jessica (Marquette) Davis Dixon, Marquette Dixon Jr., nephews Jerrard Davis (Stephanie) of Oklahoma, Julian Davis, great nephews Julian Davis Jr, John Davis, and Mikayla Davis, great nieces Aniyah Dixon, Moriah Dixon, Josiah Dixon, Jalynne Dixon, and brother-in-law Garnett Davis all of Columbus. Cheryl was called home to be with the Lord on August 30, 2026 (Jimmy's birthday). We miss her so much, but we are comforted by the knowledge that she is at home with God!
