Daniel R. VanHoose, 78, of Xenia, died Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Soin Medical Center.

He was born November 5, 1947, in Monclo, WV, the son of Claude and Edith (Wallen) VanHoose.  Daniel was a veteran of the Army serving during Vietnam.  He retired from DP&L/AES as a lineman, where he worked for over 50 years.  He enjoyed puzzles and attending car shows.  Daniel loved to spend time with his family.

Daniel is survived by his son, Keith (Alzena); grandson, Cody; sister, Connie Nelson; brothers, Allen (Shari), Sam (Vicki), Roger (Penny) and David (Pam) VanHoose.  He was preceded in death by his wife Sharon in 2025; daughter, Tracy Leach; sisters, Gypsy, Wanda and Brenda VanHoose; brothers; William, Denzil and Lanceford VanHoose.

Funeral service will be held 11:30 AM Wednesday, July 8th, at McColaugh Funeral Home in Xenia, where visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until the time of service.  Interment will follow in Valley View Memorial Gardens.
