Danny Lee "Dan" McClanahan Sr., 61, of Xenia died Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Kettering Medical Center.

He was born June 8, 1960, in Peebles the son of James Robert and Marjorie Ann (Larson) McClanahan Sr. Dan was a member of the Xenia Nazarene Church. He was employed at Twist for 21 years. Dan loved roller skating, music and DJing at Skateland, Super Skate East and Orbit Fun Center Roller Rinks. Dan enjoyed coaching Xenia Girls Recreation Basketball. He was an avid Miami Dolphins, OSU and U.D. fan.

Dan is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lori (Shepherd); daughter, Amy Baker; sons, Aaron (Kristin) McClanahan and Danny (Gina Hull) McClanahan Jr.; ten grandchildren; sisters, Diana (Steve Lewis) Lowry, Deborah Jordan and Kimberly Smith; brother, Ronald (Paula) McClanahan; father and mother-in-law, Ronald and Jena Petry; sisters-in-law, Wanda Rogers, Pamela (Mark) Castle, Sheila (Thurman) Stocks and Marcia (Ira) Birt; brothers-in-law, Harley (Sara) Shepherd and Scott Petry; special friends, Mark Lyle and Robert Moore; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and numerous friends . He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, James Robert McClanahan Jr.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the Xenia Nazarene Church, where visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will be held at Valley View Memorial Gardens.
