Dante Di
Sabatino
Jul 19, 1943 — Jul 10, 2024
Dante Di Sabatino, age 80, fell asleep in death on July 10, 2024, at his home after a brief illness. He was born on July 19, 1943 in Castelli, Terramo, Italy, to Alessandro & Nella (D'Agostino) Di Sabatino. In his early 20's, he immigrated to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. There he met Anna Pinelli, the love of his life, who then became his wife on April 21, 1967. They were married 57 years. After 13 years, they moved to Niagara Falls and lived there for over 25 years; then they retired to the Dominican Republic.
He was known as a very hard worker, a "jack of all trades", working in construction until he retired. He was also generous and kind, a devoted & wonderful husband, father, & grandfather. He was a zealous minister of Jehovah's Witnesses for over 50 years. His ministry and helping others was his life. He also loved and enjoyed the outdoors, the ocean and his gardening, especially his fig trees. As well, he loved to build things and was an energetic, hardworking father who loved his family so much, putting them always before himself.
Dante is survived by his wife, Anna, five children, Christina (Tony) McPherson, Adriano (Lisa) Di Sabatino, Sandra (Bob) Ponder, Gianluca (Loida) Di Sabatino, & Daniela Di Sabatino; also three grandsons: Joel Loiacono, Julian & Alessandro Di Sabatino. He's also survived by three siblings, Adelina Di Cenzo, Amina (Giovanni) Cacchietta, & Corrado (Laura) Di Sabatino; brother-in-law, Andrea Salutari, & sister-in-laws, Elisa, Enea, & Maria Di Sabatino. Also, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews in Canada & Italy.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Alessandro & Nella Di Sabatino, his brothers Angelo, Pasquale, & Carlo Di Sabatino, and his sister Dina Di Augustino & brother-in-law, Tulio Di Agustino, & his sister Giuseppina Salutari as well as his father-in-law, Domenico Pinelli & mother-in law, Cristina Pinelli.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at 4:00 pm {slide show to follow} at the Assembly Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Villa Gonzalez, Dominican Republic. Appropriately one of Dante's favorite places to go to, both to listen to the programs there, and to work on maintenance.
