Della Elaine "Nanny" Channels, age 80, of Xenia, passed away Friday, September 13, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 22, 1944 in Jamestown, the daughter of Reid and Della Elizabeth (Tyree) Huff.

In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her grandson: Ronald Wakefield, Jr.; great granddaughter: Taylor Channels; siblings: Mary Bernadette Fisher; Steve Huff and Margie Huff.

She is survived by her loving husband, Clyde, whom she married October 27, 1958; children: Deborah (Phil) Wray; Raejean Wakefield (Greg Harris); Rita Underwood (Charles Charleston) and Eric (Joleen) Channels, all of Xenia; grandchildren: Dorian Channels, Candace (Marcus Sr.) Peaks; Juan (Ashleigh) Underwood Jr.; Kara Edwards; Erica (Erin Eavers) Channels; Anthony Channels and Javier Jackson; great grandchildren: Chloe McGohan; Brynlee Channels; Ronald Wakefield III; Nautyca Peaks; Marcus Peaks, Jr.; Juan Underwood III; Sha'anna Underwood; Gianna Edwards; Matthew Eavers; Noah Eavers; Haillie Eavers and Shawn Eavers; great-great-grandchildren: Keiron Channels and Aniyah Rose Cox; siblings: Charles Reid Huff; George Reginald Huff; Mike Huff; and Gary Huff; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Elaine retired from Cassano's Pizza after over 30 years. She loved to shop and listen to music. She was a sports fan and enjoyed watching tennis and basketball. She was a devoted to her family and enjoyed cooking and baking for them. She was happiest when she was among by her loved ones.

A celebration of her life will be held 1 PM Friday, September 20th at McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Visitation will be held from 12 Noon Friday until the time of service at the funeral home.
