Dianna Lynn Charles, age 73 of Port William, Ohio, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022, at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born in Xenia, Ohio, on June 6, 1949, the daughter of late Edward and Maxine Thornton.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa (Geoff) Lewis; granddaughter, Alyssa Lewis; grandson, Jordyn Lewis; great grandson, Ryder Lewis; sister, Kay (Jerry) Cline; all of Xenia and a brother, Jerry Thornton of South Carolina; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Charles; brothers, Edward and Ronald Thornton; and a nephew, Douglas Thornton.

She retired several years back from Kettering Health as a patient account specialist and prior to that worked for other companies like UTC and Supervalu of Ohio, a CPA firm in Florida, and Focus on the Family in Colorado. She graduated from Xenia High School in 1967. She completed studies from Nova Southeastern University through their Paralegal program. She attended First Church of Christ of Xenia and served in several ministries there for many years.

She had numerous unbelievable talents like sign language, drawing up house floor plans, creating the most beautiful, personalized cards and other crafts like wreaths, scrap books, signs, shirts, and many more. It was always a blessing to receive a handmade card or gift/craft from her.

The family will receive family and friends on Friday, August 12th from 10:30a to 11:30a at McColaugh's Funeral Home in Xenia. The funeral service will be held following the visitation at 11:30a. Burial to follow in Woodland Cemetery in Xenia.
