Donald Abney 71, of Xenia died November 2, 2025, at his home.

He lived life full throttle, with a wild heart and a grin that said he was up to something. A thrill seeker through and through, he found joy in the saddle—whether it was on a horse or a Harley. He was hard-headed, sharp-witted, and never missed a chance to give you a hard time—especially if he liked you.

Beneath the tough exterior was a generous soul with a heart as big as the open road. Donald was always ready to lend a hand, share a laugh, or stir up a little mischief.

He was deeply loved by his wife, Lisa (White) Abney; daughters, Lisa (Chet) Prather and Dawn Abney; grandchildren Kayleigh and Tyler Abney, Nathan and Ethan Prather; and five great-grandchildren; and cherished by countless friends who knew that behind every smartass remark was a man who truly cared.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Donelly and Thelma (Jackson) Abney; and brother, Larry Abney.

We invite all who knew and loved Donald to join us for a Celebration of Life, 2:00 – 8:00 PM Sunday, November 16th, at 306 Home Ave, Xenia, OH 45385.  This is a private event open for family and friends who knew and loved Donnie.  McColaugh Funeral Home is serving the family.
