Dorothy M. Melvin, 100, of Jamestown passed Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Jamestown Health and Rehab.

She was born April 30, 1924, in Xenia, the daughter of Floyd and Glenna (Bone) Ary.  Dorothy volunteered at the Jamestown United Methodist Church helping with the monthly meals.  She greatly enjoyed visiting and spending time with her family and friends, especially the Monday night dinners.  Dorothy was everybody's 'Mom".

Dorothy is survived by her son, Dennis (Connie Miller) Melvin; daughter, Vickie (John) Kessel; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; special friends, Brenda Willett, Kay Helling, Pam Stewart, Aimee Evans, Brandy Nolley and Terri McCatherine; and the Jamestown Health and Rehab Nurses, Jess, Paula and Jodi.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Melvin in 1999; sister, Ada; brothers, Arnold and Don.

Visitation will be held 4-6 PM Monday, March 3rd, at McColaugh Funeral Home in Xenia, where the funeral service will be held 11:30 AM Tuesday, March 4th.  Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Xenia.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Valley Hospice, Ohio Valley Hospice, 11590 Century Blvd. Suite 207, Cincinnati, OH 45246.
