Dwight Paul McKnight, age 71, resided in New Vienna, Ohio passed away November 27, 2025 unexpectedly. Dwight was born and raised in Xenia Ohio on Feb 1, 1954. He dedicated his life to building friendships, relationships, family and loving everyone he came across. No one was a stranger. He spent his time working from an early age of 18 for Super Valu in Xenia as a professional truck driver and retired at 54. He spent his retirement working alongside his son Paul, building, remodeling, repairing and tinkering with everything. He spent his spare time working for Smyth Automotive delivering parts and making friends. He was an avid softball player, being one of the best pitchers to work the mound. He loved to fish with his family. He also enjoyed time at sporting events with his kids and grandkids. He had three sons Paul, Tommy, and Brian. Two granddaughters Ashleigh and Faith. Two grandsons Paul Jr (PJ), Brian Jr. Two sisters, Susie (Bob) Hull and Marcia McCorkle. One brother, Pat McKnight. We loved to listen to him while he sat on a bucket and talked about his memories. Playing Rummy will never be the same. He will always be remembered as the patriarch of our family. He has gone home to be with his son Tommy, parents Sonja and Gene, his twin sister Paula, along with other family and friends. Tink and Snowy, his fur babies will always treasure his lap. We will be putting him to rest and will have a celebration of life in the Spring of 2026. Everyone is welcome to join and will be announced by ways of social media, friends, and family.
