E. Joan Wallace, age 91, of Xenia, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023 at her residence. She was born September 13, 1931 in Dayton, Ohio the daughter of Helen (Zimmermann) and Conrad Jackowski. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Thomas; daughter, Vikki Laughlin and son: Paul Wallace; grandson: Sam Grinaldi and brothers: Eugene Jackowski; Donald Jackowski Sr. and Raymond Jackowski Sr.

Joan is survived by her children: Susan Wallace; Daniel (Lori) Wallace; Kathy Wallace-Davis;  Amy (Steve) Stewart; Peter Wallace; Belinda McDonald; brother: John Jackowski; sisters-in-law: Joyce and Mary Ellen Jackowski;  19 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

She had been a foster parent for over 30 years. She had also been an active member of St. Brigid Catholic Church, serving on the Bereavement Committee for the Old North Churches in Dayton.  She received the Distinguished Alumni from Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School in 2001 and was also awarded Dr. Austria's Woman of the Year Award.

Joan's family would like to thank the staff of Ohio's Hospice for their care and compassion.  If desired the family asks that contributions be made to St. Brigid Catholic Church in her memory.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM Monday, February 20, 2023 at St. Brigid Catholic Church,  312 Fairground Rd. Xenia. Visitation will be held 10 AM Monday until the time of the service at the church. She will be buried at St. Brigid Cemetery.
