Etta Pritchard Purvis, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful friend, passed away August 8, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family.  Born Etta Ella Atkins on February 17, 1935, in Boone County, West Virginia to Lylmer and Quennie Atkins.

In 1954 she married the love of her life, Freddie R. Pritchard, with whom she shared many wonderful years of marriage and family life. Following Freddie's passing, Etta found companionship and happiness again when she married Charles Purvis in 2015.

Etta will be remembered for her loving dedication to God, family and friends. A woman of deep faith, she was an original member of Dayton Avenue Baptist Church, where she faithfully served for many years and was recently recognized for her longstanding commitment and service. Professionally, Etta enjoyed a successful career serving as an Office Administrator and working in Human Resources, where she was respected for her dedication, kindness, and strong work ethic.

Etta was preceded in death by her parents, Lylmer and Quennie Atkins; her first husband, Freddie R. Pritchard; and her sisters-Madelene Hodge, Ruth Watson, Julie Stone, and Emma Burns.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Charles Purvis; her children, Fred "Chip" (Jill) Pritchard, Tim (Julie) Pritchard, and Cindy (Mark) Fudge; her grandchildren, Kristi Reed, Tiffany Richter, Christopher Rider, Candace Ashcraft, Erin Riffle, Leigh Ann McClain, Mary Edwards, Lindsey Engler, and Kyle Fudge; and 20 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.
