Eugene Grant Engle, age 85, of Xenia, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2024 at his residence surrounded by family.

Gene was born November 15, 1938 in Spring Valley. He was preceded in death by his mother: Margaret (Morgan) Vance; father: Roy Engle; son-in-law: Michael Anders; grandson: Tyler Anders; siblings: Leroy, Charlie, Bill, Kenneth and James Engle and Cora Engle.

Gene graduated from Spring Valley High School, Class of 1956. He was drafted and proudly served in the US Army, stationed in Germany. He worked for the US Post Office for 42 years, in Xenia and Beavercreek. He loved to golf and bowl. Gene was a good husband and dad, providing for them and devoted.

Gene is survived by his loving wife, Shirley (Reynolds) Engle, whom he married August 2, 1968; his children: Jim Engle of Miamisburg, Kelly Anders of Xenia, Steven Engle of Austin, TX and Michael Engle of Miami Twp., grandchildren: Brittany Anders of Xenia; Justin Anders of Beavercreek; Nicholas Brumett of Xenia; Sarah Brumett (Jack Brunell) of Los Angelos, CA; and Benjamin Anders of Xenia; a great grandson: Lucas Williams; siblings: David (Nancy) Engle of New Carlisle; and Mary Weber of Willetts, CA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A gathering for friends and family will be held 10 AM -11 AM Friday, August 9th at the Spring Valley Global Methodist Church, 1 N. Walnut St., Spring Valley, Ohio, with a celebration of his life starting at 11 AM. He will be interred at Spring Valley Cemetery.
