James Michael Beaver, age 75, of Spring Valley, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Miami Valley South Hospital. He was born April 23, 1948 in Hamilton County, Ohio the son of James and Betty (Smith) Beaver.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by 3 siblings: Randy, Pat and Kathy, step sons: Bret and Brad Jordan.

Jim is survived by his wife, Barbara, whom he married May 7, 2004; children: Tom Beaver, Michael Scott Beaver, Becky (Eric) Hoover and Shelli (the late William) Valluzo; step children: Deborah Edwards, Bart Jordan and Boyd (Emily) Jordan; numerous grandchildren; siblings Paul, Kevin, Marcy, Jeff and Lori

Jim retired from ODOT and worked at Ace Handyman in Xenia for several years. He had previously been the resident manager at the Hawthorne Apartments in Middletown, Ohio. He enjoyed cooking and roasting hogs. He was a wonderful husband and overall family man. Jim was very generous and never met a stranger. Jim portrayed Santa Claus for over 30 years in the Dayton/Cincinnati areas for many malls and local charities. He truly embodied the spirit of Santa. He delighted in watching the children's excitement and spreading joy to people of all ages.
