James Robert Strickland III, age 63, of Xenia, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born May 17, 1962 in Xenia, the son of Charlotte (Freeman) and James "Bud" Strickland, Jr.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Trina Stickland.

He is survived by his sons: Jordan (Jen) Seals, James R. Strickland IV, Justin (Erin) Strickland, and Andrew (Tylynn) Strickland; daughters: Brianna and Katrina; adopted son: Dylan Louderback; siblings: Elizabeth Freelan, Teresa Freeland, Darlene Kemp, Cindra Richardson, Jason, Carl and Russell Strickland; 4 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

James proudly served in the US Marine Corps. He was a graduate of Xenia High School. He loved watching Ohio State football and collecting coins.

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM on Thursday, February 12, at McColaugh Massie Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. He will buried with military honors at 10 AM Friday, February 13, at the Dayton National Cemetery.
