Janice E. (McDowell) Bailey, 70, of Xenia, died Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Greene Memorial Hospital.

She was born August 25, 1953, the daughter of Morgan D. and Audrey Louise (Brown) McDowell.  Janice worked many years for the Xenia Municipal Court and Robert Brewer Law Office.  She graduated from Xenia High School and the Greene County Career Center in 1971, and was a member of the National Honor Society.  Janice and her husband Ray were fans of the Buckeyes, Bengals, Reds and the Dayton Dragons.  She met Ray while square dancing, and they enjoyed dancing through the years.  Janice attended the Jamestown Friends Meeting for 23 years.  Janice was a dedicated caregiver to the family, and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt.

Janice is survived by her son, Jeremy E. Jacks of Xenia; step-daughters, Christine A. (Todd) Wolf of Franklin and Donna S. (Doug) Mize of Miamisburg; grandchildren, Dylan "Mac" (Marena) Orsborne, Dr. Eric Mize, Chad Mize and Samantha (Paul Ramos) Wolf; great-grandchildren, Enzo Orsborne and Luna Ramos; sisters, Judy (Garry) Riffe of Beavercreek and Jerrilee Ford of Xenia; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by husband, Raymond "Ray" Bailey; parents, Morgan D. and Audrey Louise (Brown) McDowell.

Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Thursday, March 28th, at McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia with Deacon Shane Ford officiating.  Visitation will be held 5-7 PM Wednesday and again 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home.  She will be buried at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bowersville.
