Janie L. Smith, age 83, of Xenia, passed away February 13, 2026. She was born September 1, 1942 in Big Branch, Kentucky, the daughter of Earlie and Celia (Little) Smith.

In addition to her parents, Janie was preceded in death by her sisters: Patty Ramey; Audrey Mullins; Creta Senters; Alta Bartley; Blanche Harrah; and brothers: Jerry Smith and James Mullins.

She is survived by her sister: Corena Smith and brothers: Greg Smith and Roger Smith; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Janie retired from Wright Patterson AFB where she had been a traffic management specialist. She loved her family.

Services will be held 12 Noon Thursday, February 26th at McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St. Xenia. Visitation will begin at 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home.  She will be buried at Valley View Memorial Gardens.
