John Owen Willett, age 96, of Kettering, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born April 28, 1928 in Greene County, Ohio the son of Mary Etta (Swadner) and John Franklin Willett.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brothers: Harold and Kenneth Willett and sisters: Kathryn Compton and Helen Middleton.

He is survived by his wife, Raylene (Milburn) Willett, whom he married December 13, 1946; 4 children: Connie Rae (Walter J. ) Everett; John Marcus (Robin) Willett; Leslie Dawn (Norman) Spang and Jeffrey Owen (Cassandra) Willett; 7 grandchildren: Kelly (Eric) Miller; Melissa (Brian) Anderson; Lori (Kevin) Archibald; Adam Willett; Demian Helton; Jamie Willett and Mischa Everett; 11 great grandchildren: Dallas, Anna, Sophie, Josephine, Macy, Braeden, Keaton, Skylar, Harper, Hank and Scarlett, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  John retired from NCR, where he had been a supervisor. He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid sports fan. He adored his beloved dogs over the years and was a dedicated family man, who truly enjoyed spending time with his family. They had a second home on Ohio Brush Creek, off the Ohio River, where many days were spent making lasting memories, including fishing, boating and countless jeep rides.

John's wishes were that his life be celebrated by the legacy he created in his children and grandchildren. He will be buried at Woodland Cemetery, Xenia at a later date.
