June Janice Schieffer Johnson was called home to Heaven on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, passing quietly at Alpine Nursing Home in Xenia, OH. She is now resting in the arms of her savior, Jesus Christ.

She was born on June 11, 1938, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Harold James, Sr. and Mildred Vanover Crouse. Following the deaths of her parents when she was 11 years old, she traveled by train to Oxnard, CA, with her younger brother Richard Samuel and sister Carol Ann, where she was adopted by Guy and Grace Johnson.

A graduate of Oxnard High School, June worked as a model and a bookkeeper for a small car firm before marrying William C. Schieffer, a member of the U.S. Air Force, and becoming a dedicated homemaker. She was the mother of six children: Guy Steven (deceased), Cynthia Rose Milholland, Elizabeth Renee Hisey, William Christian Schieffer, Jr. (deceased), Christopher Allen Schieffer, and Heather Chisholm Sandoval. She was also a grandmother of 15 and a great-grandmother of 20.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, two brothers, two sons, and one grandson, Caleb Michael Lewis.

In accordance with her wishes, she was cremated. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a favorite charity of your choice.
