Karen L. Green, age 76, of Xenia, passed away Friday, December 5, 2025 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born April 20, 1949 in Jamestown, Ohio the daughter of Josephine Elizabeth (Vance) and Jess Lewis Shumaker.

Karen had been an administrative assistant at Wright Patterson AFB. She graduated from Beavercreek High School. She loved her dogs, especially Apollo, and volunteered for a short time at the Greene County Animal Shelter, before her health prevented it. She attended AHOP. Karen had a big generous heart and was always taking care of others. She was a loving and devoted mother and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her son: Joey Green and her brother: Kenny Shumaker; and her dog JJ.

She is survived by her daughter: Janell Green of Fairborn; grandsons: Noah Green of Beavercreek and Landon Shearer of Fairborn; and a brother: Keith Shumaker of West Union; as well as her niece: Angel Shumaker; nephew: Ronald Shumaker and special friend: Tim Feltner; as well as many other friends.

A celebration of her life will be held 1 PM Saturday, December 20, 2025 at the AHOP Church Family Life Center. Pastor Mark Brooks officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 AM until the time of service in the Family Life Center. She will be buried at Woodland Cemetery at a later date.
