Kristen Eileen
Duffey-Steward
Nov 6, 1977 — Jun 14, 2026
Kristen Eileen Duffey Steward, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 14, 2026 as a result of an accident. She will join in Heaven her two miscarried babies and her grandparents, Dr. Robert and Evelyn Duffey.
She was the wife of Anthony "Joey" Steward and mother to Jaden Tackett (Lauren Smith), Tyler (Emma) Steward, Tanner Steward (Danielle Dailey) and Bradyn (Kelsie) Leary. Also surviving are her parents: Tomas (Teresa) Duffey and Margaret "Peggy" Schum Duffey; grandparents: Wilfred and Faith Schum; sister: Melissa Blackwell (Aaron Murrell); nephews: Tyler (Sasha), Andrew "Chase" and a host of aunt, uncles, cousins and friends. Additionally, Kristen leaves behind her greatest delight, her grandchildren: Everleigh Jane, Hudson Dane, Lain Foster, Sunnie Jo and Avanelle Jayde.
Kristen graduated from Xenia High School Class of 1996. She held numerous jobs over her lifetime, including Executive Administrative Assistant for the YWCA, Dayton; Insurance Agent with Montgomery Insurance and Anderson Williamson Insurance and most recently as a buyer with General Electric. Her favorite occupation was as a wedding officiant for Wed XO, a venture she started to join people together in love. Kristen showed unconditional love to everyone she met, always finding the good in the situation and sharing her positive outlook with everyone. She was everything you needed her to be, even though you didn't know you needed it at the time. Her legacy is much more valuable than any CEO or celebrity could financially measure.
In one of her last posts she said "Kindness can spark incredible ripple effects..." and in this spirit of kindness and giving that defined Kristen, she was able to give the gift of life to several recipients as her final act of love.
Ever the life of the party, Kristen was always very clear a party should be held upon her death. In fulfillment of that wish, all are invited to send her off in style. Kristen would never want anyone left out.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Kristen's life 12 Noon Saturday, June 27th at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 2040 W. Second St., Xenia. Visitation will begin at 10AM Saturday at the church.
