Laurie J. Hawkins, age 72, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at Dayton Veterans Hospital. She was born August 17, 1954 in Sacramento, California the daughter of Ronald C. and Rita M. (Hart) Santell.

In addition to her parents, Laurie was preceded in death by her sister: Susan M. Santell.

Laurie graduated from Xenia High School. She proudly served in the US Army from 1980-1994. She obtained her Associate Degree from Northern Virginia University. Laurie retired as an auditor with RGIS.

She is survived by her son, Jeremiah (Sherry) Blackburn and her daughter, C. Michelle (Jeremy) Landis; brother, Ross C. (Candy) Santell; sister, Sharon A. (Mike) Malone; grandchildren, Harley and Declan Blackburn.

Per Laurie's request her life will be celebrated privately. McColaugh Funeral Home in Xenia is serving the family.
