Lawrence P. Umbaugh, age 91 of Xenia passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Kecksburg, PA on November 30, 1931, the son of Edward and Mae (Newill) Umbaugh.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Wilda J. Umbaugh in 2009; son-in-law: Everett Rose; granddaughter: Kerri Rose Hall and a sister and 2 brothers.

He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law: Elva Mae and Oakie Williams of Beavercreek; and Saundra Jean Rose of Xenia; granddaughters and spouses: Kelley and Amanda Williams and Kristy and Jorge  Ruiz; great grandchildren: Tyler Sauter; Abbegail and Jayden Hoskins and Paige Hall; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Larry served in the US Army, stationed in Korea. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 2402; the Xenia American Legion #95 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was also very active in the F&AM Lodge # 711 Fairborn where he had been a member since 1959; and was also a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton. He enjoyed camping and traveling with his wife. Together they spent the winters in Florida and went Salmon fishing in Michigan. He was a great dad and family man. He had a strong work ethic and was a "people person" with an outgoing personality. He retired from General Motors.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Xenia American Legion #95.

Services will be held 11:30 Thursday, January 26 ^th at McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N . Detroit St. Xenia with Pastor Greg Delaney officiating.
