Lonnie Shattuck, Jr. age 91, of Xenia, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2024 at Walnut Creek Nursing Center. He was born July 24, 1933 in Xenia, the son of Lonnie and Dora (Riggs) Shattuck.
In addition to his parents, Lonnie was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth (Bickett) Shattuck; and sister: Mary Louise Shattuck.
Lonnie proudly served in both the US Marine Corps and the US Air Force. He retired from the US Postal Service, where he had been a supervisor. He enjoyed hunting and golfing. Lonnie was also an athlete and played softball and bowled for many years. He was a member of the Xenia Nazarene Church.
Lonnie is survived by his daughter: Lucinda (Carl I) Rose of Huber Heights; grandchildren: Carl Rose II and Lisa Howell; brother: Robert Shattuck, Sr.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 12 Noon Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Xenia Nazarene Church, 1204 W. Second St., Xenia. Pastor Mike Hancock will officiate. He will be interred at Woodland Cemetery, Xenia. Visitation will be held 11 AM Tuesday until the time of service at the church.
