Lucille Griffey, age 89, of Xenia, passed away Friday, July 16, 2021 at Kettering Medical Center. She was born in Lewis County, Kentucky, the daughter of Frank and Bertha (Mullins) Ingold.

In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her husband: William M. Griffey; and siblings: Maxine Frazier; Wanda Burgy; Paul Ingold; Charles Ingold; Donald Ingold and Frank Ingold Jr.

She is survived by her son: Phillip Griffey; sister: Elsie (Tolbert) Wolfe; and Hubert (Jo-Wonna) Ingold; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Lucille was a very talented seamstress and retired from Kroehler's Clothing Store, although she continued to do alterations for her friends and neighbors until recently when her health declined. She was very kind and helpful, a good wife and mother. She was a woman of strong faith and a member of the Church of God and believed "the living preached their own funeral before they die."

Services will be held 2 PM Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Visitation will be held 12 Noon until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. She will be buried with her husband, at Bethel Cemetery, Olive Hill, KY at 1 PM Friday, July 23, 2021.
