Mervin N.
Nolt
Jun 13, 1940 — Feb 14, 2025
Mervin Noah Nolt, age 84, of Legacy Village, Xenia, Ohio was welcomed into the arms of Jesus Friday, February 14, 2025. He was born on his family's homestead in Lancaster County, PA on June 13, 1940, the son of Elmer and Esther (Gehman) Nolt.
In addition to his parents, Mervin was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Kay Nolt, on February 24, 2024. They were married August 8, 1965 and were devoted to each other for nearly 59 years.
Mervin was a loving, loyal, hard-working, servant-hearted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He faithfully provided for his family as an electrician for various companies, most recently for Midwest Systems and Services in Evansville, Indiana where he installed, serviced, and repaired sound systems and equipment for over 35 years. Mervin and Janice enjoyed traveling together and with dear friends. He was a cheerful greeter for many years at Christian Fellowship Church in Evansville and more recently at Grace Baptist Church in Cedarville, Ohio. He was a ham radio operator (N9AFC) and had weekly established times when he would connect with his network of friends. Together in 2023, they moved from Indiana to Legacy Village in Xenia to be closer to family. After his wife's passing, Mervin was grateful for Legacy Village and the sense of community they provided him.
He is survived by daughter: Roxy (Scott) Huck of Cedarville; son: Mark W. (Kimberly) Nolt of Liberty Twp., Ohio; 5 grandchildren: Mahlon Nolt, Pearson Nolt; Owen (Georgia) Nolt; Abby Huck and Emily (Eli) Simpson; a great granddaughter: Ivy Jane Simpson; sisters: Rhoda Nolt, Grace Nolt, and Naomi (Lloyd) Weaver; brother-in-law: William L. (Maggie) Hetzel; sister-in-law: Carol Howard; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
