Pearl Faye Franklin, age 95, formerly of Crossville, Tennessee and more recently of Bellbrook, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Trinity of Beavercreek. Pearl was born near Camp Creek, Ohio on August 21, 1928. She was one of nine children born to Jacob and Louise (Ratliff) Van Dyke.

In addition to her parents, Pearl was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy R. Phipps in 1984; second husband: Douglas S. Franklin in 2015; siblings: Grace Chancey, Minnie Merritt, Gladys Legg, Lydia Edna Van Dyke, Earl Van Dyke, General Elmer "Pete" Van Dyke and Roy Adrial "Joe" Van Dyke; grandson: Keith C. Simmons and niece: Phyllis Woods.

She is survived by her children: Wanda L. (Richard) Simmons, David L. (Vickie L.) Phipps, Thomas E. (Melanie A.) Phipps and John S. (Beth A.) Phipps; brother: Jacob Lincus Van Dyke; 7 grandchildren: Shawna (Ken) Potter, Kelli and Michael Phipps, Jacob (Brandy) Phipps, Kristin Phipps (Jeff Gore), Sean Phipps, and Drew (Kiersten) Phipps; 6 great grandchildren: Dylan, Sloane, Jarett, Jenna, Jaelyn and Penelope; and step children: Mark, Rita, Debbie and Charlotte. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews, including close nieces: June Dunham, Joan Havens, Joyce Dunn, Sherry Daneault, Jennifer Eitel and Jill Barch.

Pearl was a devoted homemaker, happy to raise her family and play with her grandchildren. She had been active with the Big Run Baptist Church. She enjoyed listening to Bluegrass Music and fishing. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida.
Services will be held 12 Noon Friday, April 5th at the Big Run United Baptist Church, Lucasville, Ohio. She will be interred at the Big Run Cemetery.
