Phyllis A. Blackaby, age 86, of Xenia, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was born in Bellbrook, Ohio one of nine children born to Jenny (Adams) and Harry Dumford.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by 6 siblings.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Glenn B. Blackaby, whom she married August 31, 1956; 4 children: Kimberly Smith of Englewood; Mark (Shawn) Blackaby and Jeff (Paula) Blackaby all of Xenia; and Amy (Greg) Layne of Camden, OH; sister: Barbara Wagner of Springfield, OH and Carl (Janet) Dumford of North Carolina; sisters-in-law: Annabelle Kretschmer and Susan Sandridge; 18 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Phyllis was a hard-working homemaker, dedicating most of her time to enjoying her family. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ in Spring Valley. She had beautiful flower gardens and kept active playing pickleball at the Xenia YMCA, where she had many friends.

Funeral service will be held 11:30 AM Thursday, February 2, 2023 at McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia with Fred Zehring officiating. Visitation will be held 10:30 AM Thursday until the time of service at the funeral home.  Interment to follow in Bellbrook Cemetery.
