Randy K. Applegate, age 65, of Jamestown, passed away Thursday, February 9 ^th at his residence. Randy was born August 13, 1957 in Jamestown, the son of Ruth (Hubbell) and Elmer Lee Applegate.

In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his mother-in-law: Beverly (Harrison) Horney and the mother of his children: Mary Jo Taylor Sanders.

He is survived by his loving wife, Karen (Horney) Applegate, whom he married November 19, 1983; his children: David Allen Applegate (Jamie) of Bowersville and Randi Lee Eavers (Steven) of Jamestown; grandchildren: Macey McCoy (Jlynn Attaway); Katlynn Eavers; Dallas Eavers (Emma); Layne Applegate (Taylor) and Kami Applegate; brothers: Skip (Michele) Applegate and Steve Applegate; sister: Leana Hodges; father-in-law: Charles "Butch" Horney; sister-in-law: LuAnn (Steve) Mattox; brothers-in-law: Jeff Horney and Bruce (Jenny) Horney; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Randy had worked for American Buildings Company in Jamestown until the plant closed. In 1989, he opened up Randy's Body Shop, giving him to opportunity to do what he loved best: work on street rods. His pride and joy was his 1969 Chevelle SS Convertible. For 20 years, Randy had been elected to serve as Silvercreek Twp Trustee and volunteered on the Silvercreek Twp Fire Dept.

Services will be held 12 Noon Wednesday, February 15 ^th at McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia with Rev. Michael Helling officiating. He will  be buried in Silvercreek Cemetery, Jamestown. Visitation will begin Wednesday at 10:30 AM at the funeral home.
