Robert E. Hammel. 83, of Jamestown, died Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Miami Valley Hospital.

He was born April 13, 1938, in Brookville, the son of Fred and Opal May (Dunnard) Hammel.  Robert was a member of the Creekside Christian Church in Jamestown.  He loved farming and animals especially his cattle.

Robert is survived by his wife, Lydia (Carpenter); son James J. (Donna) Hammel; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; step-daughters, Denise (Scott) Oliver and Carol (Scott) Litmer; step-son, Doug (Marcia) Johnson; and son-in-law, Charles Slone.  He was preceded in death by daughter, Naomi Ruth Slone; two grandchildren; parents, Fred and Opal May (Dunnard) Hammel; eleven brothers and sister; step-sons, David Johnson and John Jackson.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, November 1, 2021 at McColaugh Funeral Home, where visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service.  Burial will follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens.
