Robert (Bob) Eugene Hurley, age 96, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 30 ^th at Hospice of Dayton, surrounded by loving family members.  Born in New Burlington, Ohio on September 10, 1925, Bob was a lifelong resident of Xenia, Ohio.  Bob made a living in Xenia, Ohio as the business owner of Hurley's Wallpaper and Paint Store until his retirement.  He was a devout member of Xenia Memorial Presbyterian Church.  Bob was also an avid Cincinnati Bengals, Reds, and Ohio State University football fan.   He enjoyed golfing and winters at his home in Osteen, FL at Kove Estates, where he could play golf during the cold winter Ohio months.

Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife of almost 64 years, Dorothy Hurley (Matthews) and his son, Robert (Rob) Edgar Hurley.

He is survived by his 3 daughters, Sue Ellen Wilkinson (David) of Kettering, OH, Karen Sanders of Kettering, OH, and Beth Hurley of Lake Harmony, PA.  He is also survived by many caring nieces and nephews who affectionately referred to him as Uncle Bob.  In addition, he is survived by 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and an additional great grandchild due to be born at the end of January 2022.

Service will be held at 3 PM Tuesday, January 4 ^th McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia. It was Bob's request that his nephew Roger Huston officiate his funeral. Roger will be here Tuesday to do so. Following the service, Bob will be interred with his wife and son at Woodland Cemetery, Xenia. Visitation will be held 2:30 PM Tuesday until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Dayton in Bob's name.
