Eldridge
Nov 1, 1953 — Nov 30, 2025
Xenia
Roger Dale Eldridge, age 72, passed away peacefully in the arms of his granddaughter Zoey on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at Ohio's Hospice in Dayton. This was following a courageous five-month battle with cancer.
"Dale", as he was affectionately known, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him.
Dale was born in Lewis County, Kentucky to the late Morris and Alta Eldridge on November 1, 1953. He shared fond memories of growing up playing outdoors with his cousins and other family members in Appalachian foothills. The family relocated to Ohio where he graduated from Xenia High School, class of 1971. He met his high school sweetheart, Pam Eldridge (nee Lewis), in church and they later married on April 1, 1972.
It wasn't long after his graduation from high school, Dale went to work in the automotive industry. He later founded The Rod Shop auto body collision center, where he served the community for over thirty years. Dale was into cars and building custom cars. It wasn't just his occupation, but his hobby and passion. He was proud of the many accolades his cars won over the years.
Some of his greatest joy came from spending time with his friends attending local car shows, cruise-ins, and national rod run events. He was also was an ATV enthusiast and enjoyed off roading trips with family and friends. Dale was a charitable man, known for his generous support of youth sports, 4-H, and other activities.
Dale is survived by his wife, Pamela Eldridge: sons Kevin Eldridge of Kings Mills and Ryan Eldridge (Sydney) of Xenia: sister Beverly (Ron) Withrow of Beavercreek: and grandchildren Zoey, Dylan, Tatum, Vincent, and Erin. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 PM Tuesday, December 9th, at McColaugh Funeral Home in Xenia, where a visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will follow at Valley View Cemetery.
