Keiter
Aug 22, 1946 — May 2, 2026
Ronald Edward Keiter, age 79, of Sugar Loaf Key, Florida, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Kindred Hospital, Hollywood.
He was born August 22, 1946 in Oak Harbor, Washington. Son of George and Betty (Riksen) Keiter, Ron attended Wright State University then went into business with his father creating a branch of UniDye Labs in Denver, Colorado. He subsequently moved the business to Ft. Lauderdale in 1978. His occupation took another turn when he became licensed to work on aircraft and started working for National Jets in Ft. Lauderdale. Circumstances led him to Island City Aircraft in Key West where he remained for over 20 years. During this time, he obtained his FAA certification for airline inspections and worked as a consultant for Tropic Ocean Airline.
Ron was certainly loved for his selfless generosity, great sense of humor, and love of God. He is survived by his sister Sherilyn Mason, brother-in-law Patrick, niece Kelly Bourgeois and husband Jay, nephew Matt Mason and wife Tracie, and 6 great nieces and nephews: Lilly, Jesse, Hailey, Brayden, Zachary and Maverick. He is also survived by a dear friend Georgia LePage.
