Ronald Richard
Johnson
Mar 11, 1947 — Jun 27, 2024
Ronald Richard (Rick) Johnson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2024, at 3:55 PM. Born on March 11, 1947, in Grassrange, Montana, Rick lived most of his life in Xenia, Ohio.
Rick was a dedicated family man known for his kindness and warmth. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold R. and Betty L. (Steward) Johnson; his wife, Linda Johnson; his infant son, Richard Magnus Johnson; his brother, Raymond Johnson; and his infant great-granddaughter, Caroline Lykins.
He is survived by his twin daughters, Teresa (Frank) Luka and Tracie Johnson, and his son, Ronald Jeremy (Jaimie) Johnson. Rick was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren: Allison (Walker) Erwin, Sara (Marcus) Lykins, Natalie Weller, Austin Herald, Aaron (Marissa) Luka, Troy Herald, Jaxon Herald, Ronald Cole Johnson, Mollie Herald, and Wyatt Johnson. He also leaves behind two brothers, Daniel (Vicky) Johnson and Donald Johnson, and three great-grandchildren: Sawyer Luka, Bonnie Erwin, and Evelyn Lykins.
Rick retired from the City of Beavercreek's Street Maintenance Department, having dedicated many years to his work. A graduate of Xenia High School, he enjoyed a variety of activities, including bowling, softball, woodworking, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid fan of Car Shows, World War II movies, westerns, "The Andy Griffith Show," and sports.
Rick was an amazing man who worked hard his entire life, loved his family deeply, and showed kindness to everyone he met. God chose him because his journey on this earth was complete. Knowing Rick's desire to leave this life with dignity, God spared him the hardship of not recognizing his loved ones. Rick is now reunited with the love of his life, holding his infant son and great-granddaughter. His legacy of love and kindness will forever be remembered by those who had the honor of knowing him.
A service to celebrate Rick's life will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, July 8th at McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Visitation will be held from 11 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. He will be buried privately at Woodland Cemetery, Xenia.
