Ruby L. Ables, age 87, of Xenia, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2026 at her residence surrounded by loved ones.

Ruby was born January 26, 1939 in Kona, Kentucky, the daughter of Kelly and Lucille (Gibson) Webb.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son: Gregory Tyronne Ables and a brother: Bobby Joe Ables.

Ruby is survived by her loving husband: James R. Ables whom she married June 15, 1957; her daughter: Robien Kelly (Salina) Carper of Fairborn; sister: Sue Murphy of Akron; grandchildren: Nicole (Charles) Oney; Kelly James Clemons; Joshua (Sarah) Ables; Jacob and Kyle Ables; many great and great great grandchildren.

Ruby graduated from Fleming Neon High School. Ruby loved the Lord and was a member of Freedom Baptist Temple. She was a teaching assistant with the Head Start Program. Her life was a beautiful reflection of love.

Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Friday, February 27, 2026 at McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia with Pastor Damon Medeiros and Charles Oney officiating. Visitation will be held 10:30 AM Friday until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Woodland Cemetery.
