Samuel "Lee" Herald, age 77, of Jamestown, Ohio passed away Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Miami Valley Hospital where he had been a patient for 3 weeks. He was born August 26, 1945 in Hazard, Kentucky one of seven children born to Virgil and Eula Mae Herald.

In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by his wife, Helen in 2020; and siblings: Brenda Combs, Jim, Teeter, Bookie and Ricky Herald.

He is survived by his children: Ghathern Lee Herald of Trenton; Manuel Ray (Melissa) Herald, Jerry Chester Herald and Michelle Mae Klontz all of Jamestown; grandchildren: Tony Herald, Jessie Lanter, Ryan and Corey Herald and Kaylee Klontz; great grandchildren: Chloe, Sophie, Sawyer, Connor, Corbin and Odin; and a brother: Charlie Herald of Hazard, KY; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Lee had been a molder at the Xenia Foundry for over 43 years. He enjoyed horseracing, fishing and gardening. Lee loved his family and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Thursday, July 13, 2023 at McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Rev. Russell Slate officiating. Visitation will be held 10:30 AM Thursday until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Silvercreek Cemetery, Jamestown.
