Sue C. Irvin, age 84, of Jamestown, passed away on August 5, 2022 at Hospice of Dayton Inpatient Unit. She was born on February 26, 1938 in Dayton, OH to the late Harold W. and Janet L. (Good) VanZant.

Sue is survived by her sons: Robert (Kathy) Irvin, Jr., David (Becky) Irvin, Sr., and Steven (fiancée: Pamela Hall) Irvin; daughter-in-law: Viki Irvin; grandchildren: Robert (Autumn) Irvin III, Miranda (Michael) Irvin, Kali Irvin, Cody Irvin, Emily (Aaron) Teters, and David "Will" (Logan Linkhart) Irvin, Jr.; numerous step grandchildren; great grandchild: Jasper Irvin; brother: Donald (Julie) VanZant; and brother-in-law: Ray Hayslip. In addition to her parents, Sue is preceded in death by her husband: Robert L. Irvin Sr.; son: James Irvin; siblings: Francis W. Vanzant and Rose Hayslip.

Sue graduated from Vandalia-Butler High School and Case Western Reserve FPB School of Nursing. She worked for Greene and Montgomery County Health Departments, as well as the Ohio Veterans' Children's Home in Xenia. She was an active member of Evangelical United Methodist Church, serving in various positions throughout including past chair and past secretary of the ad council. Sue was also a lay speaker, lay leader, a liturgist and Sunday School Teacher. She was also a member of the Ohio Nurses Association. In her free time, Sue enjoyed reading, sewing, and genealogy.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at McColaugh Funeral Home, Xenia. Burial will follow in Valley View Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at the funeral home.
