William Thomas "Bill" Ritchie, age 64, of Jamestown, passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday, November 11, 2023. Bill was born December 23, 1958 to the late Herschel and Beulah Ritchie. Bill made his home in Jamestown, Ohio with the love of his life for 37 years, Denece (Thompson) Ritchie. He was a truck driver for 45 years and knew all the best truck stops and never met a stranger. Bill was a lover of the outdoors, known as the "Campground Manager" amongst his family. He was the master of camp fire cooking. The bologna egg breakfast was his specialty. He worked tirelessly for his family to provide them with a home filled with love and laughter.

Along with his wife, Denece, Bill is survived by his daughter: Jamie (David) Ritchie-Smith; step son: Mike (Gianni) Zamperlini; his precious grandchildren; Chase Ward, Aleiya Smith, Emily Zamperlini; brothers: Herschel (Jane) Ritchie; David (Shawn) Ritchie; and Doug (Amber) Ritchie; and sister: Sheila Ritchie Wright.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brothers: Hiram, Jimmy, Rick, Lloyd, and sister: Iola Mercer.

Bill left a host of family and friends, including his sister "wives" Shelly Thompson Fast and Diane Thompson Marshall, who he eloquently tolerated for the past 37 years.

Bill's daughter Jamie recalls, "he was the BEST DADDY a girl could have."

He was Papaw Bill to the campground kids and he kept the fun rolling with four-wheelers and was the skipper of the pontoon boat.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Dayton in memory of Bill.

Services to celebrate his life will be held 11:30AM Wednesday, November 15th at McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St. Xenia with Pastor Mike McCormick officiating and a time for friends and family to share reflections. Visitation will begin Wednesday at 10:30 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
